DIVX 5.01 and VDub : No work?

I have already switched back to 5.0, but I am wondering if other people had the same problem. I used the exact same settings that I have been using for like a month now for TV-ripping, and upgraded to 5.01. When I did first pass, it gave me an error "Invalid log file". Second pass would not even work. Now MAYBE CBR works, but VBR definately doesnt work for me. And the video DID have widths and heights divisible by 16.

have you checked if the logfile path exists?
divx won't recreate a dir if it can't be found.

They have changed the ad-checking mechanism. If you only have one registry key left for GATOR, DivX 5.01 will not work anymore.
You have to re-install the whole package and block GATOR with a firewall.

This is not truth. You still can leave only reg key of Gator.
5.0.1 works fine with divx.log. After upgrading from 5.0 only have to show again exact path to real divx.log and mvinfo.bin

neither with the log file, nor with the ad.
I just used add-aware and removed everything exept the reg file as in version 5.00

i got that error a few times on v5.0 and v5.01. I can't figure out what it wants. so i'll encode it v4.0 i guess.

I experienced another problem with VDub and Divx 5.01 - first I thought it was the ad-ware check, but then it also appeared when I had gain_trickler running.

Sometimes (I could not find out the exact conditions when) it wouldn't encode and give me an "error -2" (wrong input video format).
This happened sporadically on various files that definitely were not in the wrong format (and it didn't happen every time).

I finally reinstalled 5.0 and everything works fine again...

Divx 5.01 doesn't show up in the vdub list, even tho i had 5.00 installed and working..
anyone else have this?

This happened to me, when I tried to encode a file which didn't meet the specs for width or height multiple...I guess it was vertical resolution of 303 or something...I added one line to make it 304 and it worked.

Hmmm, it happened to me even with H:32 W:16 files, both RGB24 and YUY2 colorspace. I couldn't find any special conditions that produced this error every time. Not too bad, I'll stay with Divx 5.0 for a while and try updating in a few weeks. That usually works, don't ask me why ;)

I am having the same problem as "thereal". i reinstalled 5.0 and its working fine again.5.01 constantly gives me error -2 in vdub as well as some logfile related error msg.
