Rotating an AVI

Live and learn they say....(ain't it the truth!)

I took some short 30 second avi's with my nice new digital camera
that is great but the orientation is wrong. 90 degree's to the right and now of course plays back on the side.

in order to watch it i need :-
a) help
b) shooting
c) to turn my TV on its side ha ha...

Seriously, i would really like to keep and use these files and i understand the problems, aspect ratio's and frame processing.

Suggestions please

d) virtualdub has a filter for rotating the picture
e) turn your camera on its side before recording :D

works a treat. Getting involved with digital images has meant i have to get a handle on about 20 (or more)new progs that the average Joe doesn't even know exist.

Anyway thats what long nights and pots of coffee are for.

Is there a way to applay such filters as that in VirtualDub without rencoding the whole movie (perhaps again)?
