dvd2avi 1.86 crashes on my win xp machine

dvd2avi 1.86 constantly crashes. i get the following error:

AppName: dvd2avi.exe AppVer: 1.85.0.0 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.0 Offset: 0002e22a

any suggestions?

Previous versions have worked flawlessly for me.

I must be blind today ;) .
I just tested DVD2avi 1.86 :
- I have a message during the loading : "Error loading lame_enc.dll"
- I tried a 2 pass rip and I got a crash just after selecting the codec parameters for the second pass.
- It seems to have some bugs in the gui : I'll test it better tonight.

It's only a simple test because I'm at work.

Rename "lame.dl" to "lame.dll". It's a little mistake. ;-)

already changed dl to dll. crashes after that if i use mp3 output. wav output works fine.

i m back to 1.76 & gnot/vdub/ndub.

Muralin, the video/audio mux is buggy. Make AVI and MP3 (Riff-wave'd) on separate files and compile with Vdub. ;-)

PD: I prefer extract WAV audio on the first pass and encode later with gogo encoder. It's fastest.

Sure, I agree with you since quality is the second thing for me ;)
I prefer encode the .WAV to .OGG and mux it use OGGMux by Koepi.
Faster seek while use Ogg as container ! Trust me!

I don't know why people so exciting adding the .MP3 support for
the original DVD2AVI 1.76 ?????
I think they have limitted HD space so they can't handle the WAV.
LOL.

PS.
I prefer to have the WAV and then convert it to as many audio type
(MP3=CBR/VBR/ABR, OGG, AAC, WMA, etc) as you want.
Final word : DVD2AVI 1.76 is enough for me ;)
and the 1.82 has better GUI so I'm using 1.82 now. LOL

I use 1.82 too, the resize option is very good and the speed with the new Divx5 is the best. :D

Is it possible to extract DTS track yet, because function is there (in new DVD2AVI).

What's the reason to encode from DTS against from DD5:1? (final quality of course) :confused:

Of course, as you sad, final quality, because a make divx (special movies only) with original sound, so AC3. Now i want to see if the DTS track wouldnt take to much space. I didn't sure but, is it true that DTS is twice the size of Dolby digital?

I have the same problem with the 2nd pass on DVD2AVI. Just when I put the encode settings for the 2nd pass. DVD2AVI disapears...
