Size is too big for 80m CD

I have done a few DVDs with out any problems, but this one is giving me some headache, the final cd images created is about 827M which is a little big for the 80m cd that I specified in the bitrate tab. I use to get 823-825M. The dvd is "The way of the gun", region 4, PAL. I am making it with subtitle.

Anyone know why the image size is out of whack or something I did wrong ? isn't dvd2svcd taking into account the size of the subtitles images ?

I played around with the bit rates to make the size of the movie smaller, but the first cd image is alway 827M.

I guess I can specify the cd size to less than 800 and redo the video encoding, but it is the last option. Overburn is not an option.

I have also changed the bbMPEGCDSize to a smaller number and crash recover the muxing and cutting but this results in bit of the second CD missing at the start!

Any ideas ?

You also posted the wrong thing. You need to post the DVD2SVCD_log.txt file and not the SVCDinfo.txt.

Without more info all I can say is to change the cd size down about 10mb to 790mb.

make sure you choose an overlap of at least 2 seconds in the bbMPEG tab. There's a small calculation bug in 1.0.7 build 4

Your bitrate is extremely low. Did you intend this?
An average of 705 for Mpeg-2 will look terrible.
You are not even at VCD levels with this bitrate.
You should really add at least 1 cd maybe 2 depending on the calculated bitrate.

I just noticed you used crash recovery and the bitrate changed to a higher level. Using Crash Recovery can also cause unexpected things to happen. Some things are changed and some things cannot be changed without editing the d2s file. You may want to start over again with the correct settings from the start. This could have caused the error you have seen.

Yeah like mark said, if you do crash recovery and change settings in the middle it can cause problems, best thing is 2 use the correct settings then start the encode, also i use a cd overlap of 5 seconds not sure how many other guys do that, but i find it alot nicer then 2 seconds.

Thanks folks, I always has the cd overlap set at 4 sec. I will redo the whole thing from scratch tonight.

All, it works correctly when I restart the whole process from scratch. Must be the crash recovery thingy that caused the problem originally.
