I have been reading the CCE 2.64 User manual in depth and have found several differences between what they say and the default values of DVD2SVCD. I will conduct my own tests, but I also want to see what the people here feel should be the correct values.

In the CCE manual it says that for Mpeg-2 linear quantization scale should not be used. It says that is only for Mpeg-1. I have seen posts here that disagree, but it was in relation to PAL.

In the CCE manual it says that at lower bitrates the Intra DC Desicion should be at lower levels(8,9) other places it says higher values are better. Then it says for fast motion high values are best and for low motion lower values are better.

Any opinions here?
edit: I just did a test encode without linear quantization scale checked and I couldn't tell any difference.

I also did a few tests on the linear quantization scale not being checked vs checked. I did a dark movie with high action and also a bright movie with little action, the fact is i could not tell the difference so if there is one i haven't yet found it. Maybe someone has found a difference and could shed some light on this.
