When I'm trying to encode my audio, I get this error:
ERROR: MP3-File-Size is zero! Transcoding failed
any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong? When I look in the folder that has all the stuff in it, I have a WAV file of the movie still but no mp3.

oh yeah, the file i loaded was titled:
TheLastCastle AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3
I also have these 3 options:
TheLastCastle AC3 T02 2_0ch 192Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3
TheLastCastle AC3 T04 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3
TheLastCastle AC3 T05 2_0ch 192Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3
Am I using the wrong one?

I'm doing it through Gordian Knot

First of all, make sure that you have put the LAME v3.91 exe in the GKnot folder (the setup installs an outdated version). Second, in the audio encoding tab and, in particular, in the Lame parameters field, be careful with the syntax: there should be no space between "--alt" and "-preset" if you're using this mode, for example this should be --alt-preset 128

Further to Amerzone's advice. If you still get the same problem after installing the correct version of lame then un-install GKnot and lame altogether and then re-install Gknot. However, in the second install do not select lame that comes with GKnot. Install lame 3.91 into the correct directory and the you should be OK.
Sometimes installing the old version of lame that comes with Gknot and installing the correct version of lame over the top still leaves you with the same problem.
Hope this helps

I also did previously get this same problem. I found it to be the fact that when it installed lame, there was no lame_enc.dll in the gordian knot folder in program files. I installed the latest version of lame and copied both the lame.exe and lame_enc.dll into the appropriate folder and it fixed my problem.
Slightly different solution to the other dude.
oh, but I was typing in --alt-preset 128 correctly and so forth. I didn't have any hassles with that.
Hope that helps...

I think either solution proposed by myself or Maggoty does the same thing. One thing for sure is that there is no shortage of good advice in these forums if someone has problems. Its helped me heaps in coming to understand the technology.
Maybe this is a silly point to make at this stage, but I use --alt-preset 160 when encoding to 2 cd's. Its a personal choice.
