I did a search all over and can't find a DIVX2SVCD program. The DVD2SVCD program is fantastic and has NEVER failed to properly rip a DVD yet. I have ALOT of DivX movies and am just learning how to convert them to SVCD but the task looks very intimadating. Not being a programmer I would not know the complexity of such a task BUT with all the people asking the same thing "How do i convert my Divx to SVCD?" questions I thought I would ask.

How hard would it be? Is it feasible or are there just tooooo many variables to consider? And before any of you DivX fanatics speak up let me defend myself by saying I don't have a TV-out on my computer and even if I did my computer is way on the other side of the house compared to my 16x9_TV-surroundsound-5.1DVD-lazyboy-beerfridge-remotecontroled lounge room :D

Thanks to everyone who replies. Now, I am off to try to convert my first Divx to SVCD....*shiver*

Although there is something like AVI2SVCD (used mostly for Digital8 and miniDV) some people have had successes using it with divx. You might want to try it for yourself.
I guess you already have found the guide on how to convert divx to svcd???

Yes, I have. It is VERY good but looks a bit intimadating for a newbie like myself with all those different programs to play with. Being a self-proclaimed newbie I openely admit to loving DVD2SVCD because of the idiot-proofness of it. I start it at night before bed and viola, by morning it is all ready for burning. What more can I say.

Someone told me to try DVD2SVCD in AVI2SVCD mode because it works for DivX movies also. I just heard that and am going to try it out tonight. If it works, I will report back and say so...hopefully helping out other newbies with this troubling problem.

don't give up hope. Wait for the next release 1.0.8 build 1 (not sure when it'll be released) but if I might cut and paste from the readme.txt

http://212.88.77.140/Readme.txt

- Enhancement: It seems that CCE/Avisynth has problems with some DivX3 AVI files, but when the DivX3 is converted to DivX4 everything works, so I have added a checkbox in the Misc. Tab, where you can select DivX3 to DivX4 conversion (of course you need divx4 installed for this to work).

good luck....best things come to those who wait.

good luck....best things come to those who wait.

As the saying goes..."They say patience is a virtue...I just wish my patience would hurry and get here"...or something to that affect.

All joking aside, this DVD2SVCD program is fantastic. I have used it successfully to convert DivX movies. I can't wait to see what the next release will provide. Kudo's to the programers. Good on ya mate.
