Isolating and ripping DVD audio

I have seen a lot of isolated scores ripped from DVDs in the newsgroups as of late. I did some searching and found how to extract audio from DVD files. However, whenever I do it, all the audio tracks are together. For example, the back ground music as well as the talking.

The posts in the newsgroups are just the background music. They are kind of like custom soundtracks.

Anybody have any idea how this is done?

Maybe you can try to turn off centar and rear channels before you convert AC3 to wav. Most of talking are in the centar channel and in rear channel are only effects . This way you could get something like sound track from movie but it still needs a lot of editing.
