Virtualdub capture audio problem

I have a problem capturing audio in VirtualDub. In preview mode I hear the sound,but when I play captured file there is no sound heared. I set it to capture audio in PCM format,properties of captured file shows that audio is there but only silence is captured.What am I doing wrong.
The capture card is miroVIDEO PCTV pro (Pinnacle)

what type of audio card do you have ? And under the volume slider in windows what settings do you have it set to ? Is it set to audio playback from your capture card or from your audio card? I had a problem a while back with an Osprey card that was fixed via 1) changing the slot it was in or 2) checking what settings were used for playback under the volume slider.

when I capture using software from pinnacle I get audio and video.
In Audio tab in Virtualdub I don´t have graphic equalizer movement although sound is heared

phew error corrected! Tnx man for pointing out RECORDING sliders.I was always moving just playback sliders withoun success,naturally.
