in virtualdub using the logo plug-in, i get a divx file of 1.4 GB
but the oriinal file is just 656 MB.

how can i apply that plug-in keeping the movie size +/- 700 MB?

it has nothing to do with the plugin, you're just using a too high bitrate. Use exactly the same bitrate as the original AVI!
