View Full Version : Which program to multiplex a .m2v made with TMPGEnc with the AC-3 -track?

Hi!

I have a .m2v -file, made with TMPGEnc and DVD2AVI from original VOBs. I had to disable the option to "force I-frames" as TMPGEnc kept freezing (2 hours wait and still freezes) when I tried to load the TMPGEnctemplate.txt. Otherwise the resulted .m2v looks ok, even though it didn't contain the tmpgenc.txt -file's info. I think I can separate the AC-3 track with Smartripper. My question is, which program should I use to multiplex the .m2v with the AC-3 track (and possibly an additional 2-channel track)? I already tried IFOEdit, but it resulted in VOBs that had different length audio and video. Any other suggestions or solutions. The reason I used TMPGEnc was that Rempeg gave disturbing blockiness in the destination file. The source is NTSC.

Thank you very much for any info,

hmm.. please try to be more specific. What is your goal? ifoedit remux (following my ifoedit guide) or create a new dvd altogether?

Yes, the video has been acquired by IfoEdit, DVD2Avi and TMPGEnc (but without loading the tmpgenc.txt) as described in Doom9's guide.

The audio (2 x audio track) is going to be extracted with the usage of Smartripper.

I would just need a program that would multiplex these 3 items successfully in order to make a Movie Only DVD. I tried to remux with IfoEdit, but it resulted in the video and audio being way off sync (in the end the picture froze to the ending credits and audio kept going on for 20 minutes).

this is an easy one :). Open Tmpgenc.. go to file... then mpeg tools. A multiplexer will come up.. Select your audio and video files.. set a destination point for the output.. hit run, your done.

You could have done that from the start (chosen your ac3 for audio when encoding from vobs) it would have multiplexed it then. Tmpgenc DOES support ac3...

Ok, thank you for your help - I got it working finally.

What application did you use to create a DVD compliant file system (vob files) or image file with your muxed video/2xAC3 file? Did you already burn your results on a DVD-R(W)?

I just imported the files into maestro, which accepts separate tracks.
