15 fps IVTC

Is there any special way of IVTCing a 29.97 fps video into a 15 or 14.876 fps video? I am doing a manual IVTC trying to find a pattern that takes out half of the frames so it will be 15fps. I have found a pattern that is 10 fields long but it changes a little bit every 1/4 of a sec of so of video, and so it is taking forever to do this (about ten hours so far). Is there any way I could speed this up?
