Hi,
I am currently using Gordian Knot to encode with the brand-new DivX 5 Pro codec. But there is one confusing thing in the (otherwise excellent) Gorsian Knot (DivX5 Guide) guide on doom9.
In Step 2, in Audio Encoding, I have to enter a delay in the Audio 1 Tab (see http://doom9.org/gknot-audio.htm, Step 8: Audio Encoding), which obviously will affect the mp3-file in some way.
And then later, in Step 4 (Join video and audio) with Nandub, it says: "Enter the delay value from your AC3 file in the Delay audio track by XY ms field. Negative values get a minus in front of course. Then press OK. There's no need to change the other values."
(see http://doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm#mp3mux near the end of the file).
i.e., here I enter the delay a second time. Is that correct?
Conclusion: if I follow that guide as described, I have subtracted (or added) the audio delay twice, right? Or is there anything wrong the way i think?
So, what is the right way to handle this. should I enter the delay in both steps (as described), or only in the first (when extractinng the audio), or only in the second (when muxing audio and video)? I am really confused.
Thank you very much for your help.
Regards,
Jackie
