Possibility to see 48khz sampled divx with 44khz able soundcard?? [Archive]

I would like to know if there is a possibility to watch a movie wheren the sound is sampled at 48000 when your soundcard doesn't support it?

The problem is in fact the sound and video are totally desynced on this pc.

This should be posted/moved to audio encoding forums ... but here you go :

If your soundcard driver does not perform real time 48 to 44.1 KHz downsampling ( have latest driver ? ) or your CPU is too weak to do this and decode video same time you have onyl one chance :

Decode your AVI sound to PCM WAV in Nandub ( 'file' : 'save as WAV' : 'audio' 'compression' 'PCM uncompressed' ) , load it into BeSweet and then resample to 44,1 KHz and encode to Lame MP3 ( or preferably Vorbis ) same go .... then you have to mux the new, resampled audio into your AVI again, using nandub ( or to use OggMux from Koepi if you do a .ogm with Vorbis audio ).

Of course there will be a very noticeable decrease in sound quality by performing this extra de/encoding cycle, but its better than not to be able to watch the movie at all of course.

Best way : get a new soundcard ( if possible ) !!
