Anyone know how to take a movie I originally encoded as 1400MB because I didn't really know what i was doing at the time...now I want to take all those movies I encoded and squeeze them down to 700MB. Also, I used ac3 audio for all my movies, but would like to change over to mp3...anyone know of a guide that will walk me though this?

Just to let you know, I am not doing that anymore...I have learnt that there is really no difference in visual quality.

Thanks for all your help

this is no big deal:

You gotta extract the AC3 from your AVI using NanDub, then encode it to mp3 using HeadAChe for example.

You load your AVI in VirtualDub, choose no audio in the audio menu, choose full processing mode, use the resizing filter to become a decent resolution for 1CD (usually half of what you have: if you have 704x304, go for resizing to 512x224 for example, but it'll sure depend on the length and the aspect of your movie), choose the right codec and save your AVI.

Then you can multiplex AVI and mp3 in NanDub to a new AVI.
Append both AVIs at the end, also using NanDub.
