Before the new installation of WindowsXP
everything worked perfect.
But now after a fresh installation fo WinXP TMPGEnc doesn`t read (import) any MPEG-2 files anymore.
Somehting wrong with the access to the direct show filters?
I have 2 different DVD-Players installed
Mediamatics and WinDVD.
Anybody with an idea what I should check for errors?
thanks

Sounds like you need a MPG-2 codec installed. I believe there's a free one on Doom's download page. Alternately, if you install Ligos MPG encoder, it will install a MPG-2 codec as well.

I wrote it already in my first message.
I have WinDVD & DVDExpress installed.
So there have to be enough Codecs to be used for opening such a file.
Usually DirecShow uses the Video-Codec of DVDExpress and the Audio-Codec of Intervideo.

I found it out on my own.
I played a bit with the Codecs from my DVD-Players and it seems that the newer Codec from Intervision (WinDVD V3.1) is not working with TmpegEnc. But when only the DVDexpress Codec were left TmpgEnc instandly imported/read any MPEG-2 files.
So...watch your codecs boys!!!
Anybody experience with PowerDVD´s Codec to work with TmpegEnc?
DVDexpress own codec are pretty poor in both quality AND options.
