i have some questions about headac3he.
I really like the prog as it is the fastest way to encode i've ever seen.
here are some results of my pcs:

Athlon 1ghz = 0,51 MB
Athlon XP 1,8 = 0,79 MB

Anybody knows if this is good? I used the qtb for tweaking the hd but i don't know if i should use a block size with which buffered or unbuffered read/write is fast. So anybody knows which is more important to gain speed? ( i chose one that was pretty high on unburred and buffered).

I used vorbis at q 0 but what about the channel coupling option? do i have to use the hold option next to the different coupling modes?

Then something about the encoding process:
Azid and vorbis are performing one "encoding cyrcle" per channel you want to encode. Are they encode one channel after the other or how does it work as i thought left/right had to be encoded at once to get channel coupling.

Choose the one with high "buffered" values.

Channel coupling may be important if you have a DPL amp. hold is just of GUI importance.

The cycles have nothing to with channels. It just means that the current chunk in buffer is being processed (all channels simultan.).

ok thx for reply.
but why does headac3he perform more cycles whn encoding 6 channels?

Because you have more data. If you want similar amount of cycles you need triple buffer size...
