Is it possible to change the default audio stream in a vob file from DD5.1 to DTS 5.1 which is also in the VOB file? A guy in the AVS forums said that it should be possible with vStrip but after reading the guides for vStrip and AC3 Extraction I still don't have any idea.
Plaese, help me!
I'm asking this because I have 2 DTS trailers (The digital experience(the flying disc) and Experience) but they all play in DD5.1

you can remap audio substreams, but this probably won't help if DolbyDigial is the default decoder.
in this case you can try use vStrip in order to completely remove the ac3 substreams, and leave only the dts streams.

Is there a way to find out which stream ID which real audio stream represents?
or can somebody take a gues which ID is the DTS track?

:(
none of them is the dts track, or if it's then I'm doing something wrong
If you have time and no traffic limitation will you have a look on this:
ftp://212.43.218.146/dts-the_digital_experience.vob
you can find more DD and DTS trailers at

run the following commandline :
vstrip.exe dts-the_digital_experience.vob
it will print a summary of exisiting substreams inside the vob.

As far as I can understand this may be there isn't a dts track, correct?

I suppose the guy at the AVS Forum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=128618&pagenumber=2) is mistaken or he is talking about different file.

now i recall that DTS are usually on substreams from 0x88 to 0x8f :).
anyway, your vob only holds one soundtrack, and as you could see in your player (powerdvd/windvd ?) it's dolby-digital.

I've got the DTS Experience VOB file on one of my old trailer CD's that I use for tweaking speaker setups. In fact I have several DTS trailer VOBs now that I think of it.
They do indeed play in DTS mode, I should say the one I have does;) I'm not sure why your not seeing the DTS stream, in fact I didn't know vStrip would allow such a thing.

@MaTTeR
Can you upload them somewhere?
I'm searching for dts trailers and for the moment I only have the one with the piano (the begining of Gladitor). I've dowloaded 3 from the site I've mentioned before but they only have a DD track (or I can't simply find the DTS track)
:(
I also downloaded a DD trailer from the same site
the dolby-train(long).vob and have problems with it:
I can play it without problems in PowerDVD and even in MediaPlayer with InterVideo's audio and video filters but when I start it in WinDVD the player crashes
:(
I tried vStrip and it sais the he cand find a key to decrypt it
