Hello there,
I've been trying Nero, then VCDEasy, and TSCV for finally knowing what final type of VCD I'd like to do: ones like DVD with true chapters and motion menus with motion preview thumbnails for chapters. But as TSCV functions to generate a motion menu are so bugged and unreliable for now, I'd like to know if anyone know another piece of soft which would also allow to generate true chapter and motion preview menus for vcd?

Hmm... you could just copy the menus from the DVD :D
oo, I'm being biased, sorry ^^'
uuum, TSCV is really the only program to my knowledge that allows you to make motion menus with thumbs and stuff AND allow true chapters. Ulead DVD MovieFactory is the easiest (or least buggiest, however you want to look at it) program to use but not only is it commercial software its also extremely limited in what you can do and it also cannot create true chapters.
I've used TSCV in the past because it is a pretty good authoring program (alebit slightly buggy ;) ) and because it gives you just about as much control over your menus as possible without just editing the XML directly. As for generating the motion menus, I guess you've just got to mess around with TSVC's engine until you get a feel for it.
Hope this was helpful in some way, good luck
-edit- or.. nevermind, check out this thread

I don't know if this is going to be a satisfactory answer to your question, but it might provide you with other options for making a good motion menu.
For me, tscv does't work very good, and the animated thumbnails look horrible. Searcing for answer to my questions, I came upon this guide (http://www.geocities.com/diarav2002...menu_guide.html),wich explains how to make motion menu, with animated thumbnails, using avisynt and virtual dub.
It works great once you have avisynth working propperly, the menus created with it look beautiful, and you can have if you want, animated thumbnails over an animated background.
I just started using it, I only made a few menus, but as I said, they came out looking great.
If you are going to go for it, give it a try, and know that if you only want the thumbnails over a static background, the picture you use, doesn't have to have the spaces for the thumbnails cut out as the guide states.
It works great for me, and if I can be of any help, I'll be reading the forum, and try to give some additional information if desired.
I wish you luck.
PS This is the answer I posted to your other question(Many questions about TSCV...)
