I have recently come accross an anomoly, that i can't guess how to fix, and i was hoping you pros here could give me a hand.
I make dvd rips using the old smartripper->dvd2avi->tmpg route, VBR 2-pass, splitting with DVtools, mostly, and they turn out great for me. I have a Memorex standalone and in my WinDVD they play great, Memorex tends to pop on the sound every once in a while, but its old.
The weird problem is on other ppl's players, mostly, the Apex 1500. When it gets to about the last 4 mins or so, it just cuts off, like there was an error on the disc, or there is just nothing left. But before that, it was beautful. Then it turns out, my friend is telling me its doing it in his WinDVD as well as another standalong player.
The weird thing is ones that i didn't author, but downloaded, and burned using the same technique, play good all around, so i am doing something weird i guess.
Anyone have any leads on what it could be? i have exhausted all of my guesses.
