does lame have a 2pass mode to hit a certain filesize with optimum quality?
if yes, i need the commandline parameters

NO

But alt preset gives you the best quality at the moment with +/-3kbps accuracy for the bitrate.

Example: if you wanna 128kbps average, you may use the following:

--alt-preset 128

what does
--alt-preset 128
do?

what is the equivalent parameter list?

is "gives best quality" your opinion or is this official?

There is no equivalent parameter list. It's a tuned preset.
I'll say, it's kinda official, I read that somewhere that's it's the best setting for ABR encoding, tested it and found that it's really the best, so I won't bother myself too much.

Everytime I wanna do ABR encoding, I use it.

if you wnat proof look at www.hydrogenaudio.org which are a audicompression forum

i prefet thought to set the lowpass my self to 18500 at 128kbits encoding

but thats just my taste

--alt-preset uses -q=2 !
so its not optimal
i would recomend
--alt-preset 128 -q=0

I've seen this "-q0 is better than -q2" too many times.

Believe it or not -q2 is the best quality level to use. -q0 and -q1 are experimental switches (turning on Takehiro's experimental noise-shaping) which have been shown to cause problems.
