hi,

what i want to do is converting a given mp2 file to mp3.
will there be a difference in quality if i
1. convert it to wav with virtual dub and than to mp3 with lame
2. convert it to mp3 with lame directly.
?

do you mean the question is lame?
or that mp2->lame->mp3 gives better quality than the other way?

lame is the better alternative.
