Hi,

after long long time - any some converted DVD's -
I got a problem today.

"VCDXBuild faild to create a bin/cue file!"

I droped the mp2 file on my powerdvd and they work fine.

Do you need the log.txt to help me, or is this a
"known" bug. I did many DVD's before and this never happend.

Im using 1.0.6b4 which was a very stable build till now.

Thx
scotty

Hi scotty,

failing of vcdxbuild is often caused by heavy solar activity! - Just kidding :D - paste the "dvd2svcd_log.txt" please.

Often this error is caused due to the use of special characters in the output file pathes (no kidding this time) - see the Q&A on that!

Gerti

Hi Gerti,

thx, I think your hint was great - I named the directory "männer zirkus".

The software worked too good in the last weeks, so I forgot that its all based on US code....

Is there a chance to change the parameters?
Or is it better and easyer to compile completly new?

Rgds.

Hi scotty,

try to rename the conversion directory to something simple like "zirkus" or so then start D2S and change your default output folder to it also.

After that make a copy of the "dvd2svcd_log.txt" just to be on the safe side and then open the "dvd2svcd_log.txt" with notepad and change all the pathes to your new path.

After that do a "Crash Recovery" from the "SVCD Authoring" step - I tried it in the past and it worked perfectly.

Greetings,
Gerti

Hi Gerti,

you are wonderful!!!!

There is only one thing I want to add:

I have to change the directory name in the
... dvd2svcd project file.d2s also.....

It works fine

Thanks

Hi scotty,

oh my g.. I'm such an Idi.. - I meant the "dvd2svcd project file.d2s" but you found it out yourself. ;) There is really no advantage in editing the "dvd2svcd_log.txt" file - how could I write this? :o

Gerti

For anyone following this post and getting stuck opening the "dvd2svcd project file.d2s". Every time I tried to open this file my PC automatically opened BBMPEG for some reason. If you find this happening to you, you will need to right click & open with notepad before you can change your output files. Maybe I am just dumb not to figure this out straight away but I thought this point may help other dummies out there.

I have been following this thread and am getting something similar. Have not changed any of my default directory's from the default, i just create my svcd in the movie directory then when the .cue and .bin files are created copy them into the correct folder.

I have been using 1.0.9 build 3 and have done 20 + disks with no prob, but yesterday when i got to the VCDXBuild stage it created the 1st .cue and .bin file o.k then when creating the 2nd .cue and .bin file it crashed. Have tried this twice and both failed. Tried to use the crash recovery but get file not found even though the dvd2svcd project file.d2s is in the movie folder.

I have attached my log file in case anyone can help me

No i just cut and pasted the vxdbuild bit out where it failed. Have done another dvd since then and this has worked with exactly the same settings o.k. Must be something to do with black hawk down.

you need to read the faq...you used mpeg5.1 audio...to use this you must use i-author to mux the cd's...no other programs support 5.1 audio. this is why vcdxbuild crashed...just for a future note, post your entire log file in the area, not just a portion...luckily i downloaded the attatchment which contained the whole log, but it's a lot easier if you just copy and paste the whole thing in your message.

cheers for that will take the mpeg5.1 option off! :)
