hi,

I have ripped out the AC3 stream from a DVD... It plays fine with PowerDVD, quality is good, but there was a problem... When I want to encode it into mp3 format with HeadAC3he, it says this "Warning: Source file's last frame incomplete (or corrupt AC3 stream)", BUT the AC3 is good because PowerDVD plays it fine.
Another experience about this that i've multiplexed it with the encoded .avi, then the finished file looks good, but when i seeked in it, the sound was very slipped.... sometime when i seeked into .avi it says "The file format is invalid. (Error=8004022F)"

HOW can i FIX this problem???

Anyway i Use FlaskMPEG Expert Version to encode the whole .avi and choose the Direct Stream Copy option in Audio settings. Then i've tried to get out the AC3 stream with vStrip, it's worked i get a same file size .ac3 file, but the errors still remains!

Please help me somebody if expereienced things like this, and then could fixed it!!!!

Is fixes this problem the AC3fix?

Thanks in advance!

You can probably use AC3FIX to fix this corrupt file. Another more user-friendly application is HeadAC3he:

Start HeadAC3he, open the suspect AC3 file - HeadAC3he will check the file and report if frames are corrupt, but you can have HeadAC3he repair it: Select as "range end" one frame less than it got entered in the spin edit after loading the file (short: click one down), select AC3 as output format, then save the file with a new name.

This will cut the file at the corrupt frame; if it was only the last, it will make the audio a few milliseconds shorter, but this shall not be so bad, because near the end of a movie is usually silence, or just a soundtrack during the scrolling cast, which is not so important for most people. But if it was in the middle of the movie, you may have a bad rip.

Thanks for help!

I've used AC3FiX, and the result was this at the end of file:
Writing frame
Current wrongness is -256 bytes
Checking frame 329253: Wrong frame length, expected 505732864, got 1536

Now I tried to load with HeadAC3he the fixed AC3 stream, now i didn't get error message...

BUT still a big problem, i have... when i multiplex the .avi and this .ac3 with Nandub. When i seek into the middle of the movie the sound is totally slipped from the picture!!! what's the problem... and an other experience when i jump in the movie by seeking at one time it said "The file format is invalid. (Error=8004022F)" !!!! (i've used for it WMP, but i think i doesn't matter mainly)

please help me something about this!

thanks in advance!

2nd post in two weeks where Flask has hosed/corrupted AC3 files. You really shouldn't use Flask for anything.

I'd advise reripping the AC3 file with the more reliable DVD2AVI.

not with FlaskMPEG was the problem, i've used vStrip to get out the AC3 stream from DVD, but it same what FlaskMPEG produce.

anyway my another problem the attaching AC3 to .avi file. cause when i seek in file the sound is totally slipped from the picture!!!! why is this??? how can i fix this problem???

I have no experience with vStrip. I can tell you I've never had one problem using DVD2AVI, countless encodes and no sync issues.

Have you not read the AC3/SPDIF FAQ? I suggest you do so.

i've read the FAQ, i found only the right settings for me for audio interleaving in nandub.

couldn't be the problem that the .avi size bigger than 2GB, cause it's a very long movie (2hours and 55minutes, encoded at 1260kbps videorate + AC3 5.1 384kbps)????

i can't imagine why is this sync problem with the .avi? (why getting error message in WMP at seeking: "The file format is invalid. (Error=8004022F)") Cause when i seeking in PURE encoded .avi (without audiostream) it's fine and i get any errors...

i wait for any idea...

hello,

it seems to be the problem was solved... i've read the offered thread, it reflects to synch problems with .avi files at higher size than 2GB... thanks for the help..

the solution is very simply just i needed to split files into parts bellow to 2GB limit.
