Where can I learn about terms! Muxing and Cutting?

Been looking around to figure out what is Muxing and Cutting. When does this happen in DVD2SVCD? I am confused!

Muxing is the part where the audio and video are put together. DVD2SVCD handles the audio seperate from the video. Cutting is simply the cutting to size the combined audio and video. This is the step right before the bin/cue files are made so you can burn them and still have chapters etc...
