Hi all, I am a newbee, I do have one problem which occurs every time I run a conversion. Maybe the answer is simple but I searched the forums and the faq but couldn't find any clue...
Here it is :
Each time I run a conversion from scratch (DVD ripping or not), when it comes to the video encoding phase, the whole process stops with an "Open" dialog box opened, file filter is for movie files, CCE window behind says "CCE_project_file.ecl" and one file's already selected in that window : Avisynth_script_file.avs. And that's it, the "Open" dialog box stays open forever...
I must then exit CCE and dvd2svcd, re-run dvd2svcd and Crash recovery from "video encoding".
My OS is WinME, dvd2svcd version 1.0.6 build 4.
Can anybody help ?

Upgrade to 1.07 build 4 and try it again. You will need to install 1.07.1 and then install the 1.07.4 over it as it's just an upgrade and not the full bundle.

Ok, thank you for your answer.
I tried 1.0.7 b4 but the same problem occurs.

Could it be because of
- the energy saver which turns off the screen after a while (does dvd2svcd rely on that ? I doubt about it)
- any other program running ? I don't have any in fact, except firewall, antivirus, motherboard monitor -because of the athlon overheat...- , all in the tray.

Other things to mention ?
- the problem does not occur when I run a conversion of a trailer for instance (1 min 30s long)
- I always rip subtitles

Anyone experimenting the same problem ??

Thanks in advance.

That's it, I have found what the problem was !!

I had the energy saving feature configured to stop the hard disk after 30 minutes of inactivity.

When dvd2svcd was starting the video encoding and cce, I had one of my two hd stopped and upon the 1st open dialog box in cce, win me would wake up the stopped disk, which takes a few seconds. Apparently those few seconds are too long for dvd2svcd and it looks that the keystroke "pipe" with cce was broken, leaving both cce and dvd2svcd in a waiting state for ever...

I've configured 2 hours now, should be fine.

Bye
