I am having a problem with audio being out of sync. I am following the CCE guide and then reauthering with Maestro. The picture and sound in the new set of vob files that are output by Maestro are both excelent qaulity, but there is always about a 5 second delay on the audio. The dvd I am reauthering is three kings, but I have had good results with other movies.

Don't seem to be able to find anyone else in the forums with sync problems. Am I doing something stupid?

few suggestions, havent come across this before

did you set the timecode in CCE to 0:00:00:00 (under Video settings) - the default is 4 sec, but I believe this has to be changed to zero to get synch

install Cinemaster 2000 codecs, as this will allow instant preview of any changes you may make and allow readjustment of audio by dragging if necessary

use "Navigation Simulator" to check for synch before outputting - not sure if this requires Cinemaster

I did set the timecode to 00.00.00.00 in cce. This movie is the first one that has done this but I have tried to do it 3 times now with the same result. I will install the codec so I can preview it but how do I change it. It's doing my head in :confused:

if the audio starts too early (audio ahead of video), this is easy to fix.
Zoom in on timeline until you have about 5 sec visible in window
then drag audio to the right, it will stay in position you release it in - say move to right 15frames (0.5 sec) or 4 sec as you judge
then play movie and listen again

if audio starts too late (i.e. audio behind video or a -ve delay as expressed in the audio file you will have demuxed with Smartripper or DVD2AVI), then you have to try the black slide trick
This is described elsewhere on forum but briefly:
in NTSC world you would create a 720x480 black slide (.bmp format)in any bitmap image editor
import this asset into DVDmaestro
then drop it in ahead of your main video file - you will see a 1 sec black "movie" appear on the timeline
this file can be shortened to 15 frames but no shorter, or lengthened to any length you like, by dragging the sliders
if you needed to start audio 4 sec ahead of video, create a 4 sec black slide, then drag the audio to start at beginning of black slide

finally you could try "create sync audio" track, this would be my first option rather than opting for the manual re-alignment described above
