I would like to be able to extract the video and audio from a VOB w/o re-encoding it, IE make it insertable into DVD authering software without needing to re-encode. Here is why, i just found a WAY KEWL tool called NEO-DVD it takes my DV input from my camcorder and INSTANTLY (Realtime) transfers it to a DVD image (IFOs and VOBs) The problem is the frigging thing wont let me add to it, once I capture the video it makes the VOBs and wont allow me to add more to the DVD. I have tried to import the VOB file directly into DVDit, Spruce Up, or Ulead DVD Movie maker but they wont read the VOB. YES i know Ulead DVD movie maker captures DV and makes a DVD MPEG, but it takes FOREVER to render it, NEO-DVD does it on the fly (realtime)!

You don't HAVE to re-encode a demuxed m2v file to use the file in a DVD authoring tool. There is a problem with the start time being offset, but if you are not adding subtitles to the video, there should be no probs. If you are adding another audio track besides the one that was demuxed with the video, make sure it has the same offset start time as well.

use bbtools to pull this off. it's a command line interface, but that is all that you're going to be able to find to do this.
Or hold on a sec...if your program produces a fully qualified, ready to burn set of DVD files, you can use smart ripper to extract the streams. Open the DVD from your hard disk, enable stream processing, and select Demux to Extra File for both the audio and video. You can then import these into your authoring software.
