Hello everybody!!I recently encoded "Highlander:Endgame" using Xvid.I must confess that the quality was extremely good.However near the end of the movie I saw that!!!!!!What is going on???

Don't know. You don't give us much to guess on. You haven't accidentally set the beginning of the credits too early? ;)

I am sorry!!!I had a little problem with my connection and could not attach the screenshot!!What I saw was more like noise(green dots) all over the screen.And that happened on a keyframe!I think that Xvid loved that movie!;) However why did that happen?:confused: Thanks!:D

Here is what he saw..It is in a zip file..I hope it is attached :)...

His settings :

1CD rip
Motion : 6
Quant : H.263
FourCC : XviD
The rest are the defaults....

One more thing.The problem it's on the encoding cause I captured the frames with VDub,so it isn't a DSF problem...

ouch.. looks pretty nasty.
what version was beeing used?

can u pls give a better description than "near the end of the movie" ?
i.e. how many times, for how long, was it after/before end credit start frame etc.

the more info the better.

The version used was the one Koepi released at the 17th of March.The problem appeared a couple of keyframes before the endcredits.As far as how long it kept you can see that from the screenshots of the zip attached.

do the original frames (from avs) look okay? i'm not sure but it could be actual errors from a buggy DVD. what does encoding with dvx3 or divx5 look like? don't know if it will help but it may eliminate other obvious possibilities like errors in the vob files. :(

Some explenations about the screenshots....

The sequence is :
1) keyframe.jpg
2) after4frames.jpg
3) after6frames.jpg
4) after8frames.jpg
5) beforenextkeyframe.jpg

Total duration 15 frames..

The next keyframe was clear and it wasn't repeated again...

P.S HellSpawn is a very good friend of mine :D and also a newbie at XviD encoding:p :p :p ..So I am helping him a little..:D :D
