Is there a way do add a delay, in ms, to a(n) Ogg audio track using Graph Edit? I know virtual dub can do this under the av interleaving options but vdub wont mux my ogg/avi.. any suggestions?

This is somehow related to your question... I'm trying to convert an AVI with delayed audio to OGM. It works, but it does something strange. The AVI has a 3000 ms audio delay (normally the delay is smaller but I'm trying with 3000 ms because it's easier to notice) and I've converted it to OGM via Graphedit. When I start to play the OGM, a little of sound plays (about 1/10 seconds), then the counter jumps to 0:00:03 and continues playing from there. So it works (kinda).
Maybe this is a temporal solution to what you're trying to do: go from OGM to AVI, apply the delay and then go back to OGM. But it's always preferrable to take care of the delay when converting the audio with HeadAC3he or BeSweet. If it's AC3 audio you can use AC3 Delay Corrector.

You have to find out the correct delay value for your AC3 ( DVD2AVI or Smartripper will tell you ) and then compensate when transcoding the AC3 to Vorbis ( not Ogg ) .. BeSweet can do this easily for you, for HeadAC3he use a proggie called AC3DelayXXX ( dont know the name ) from Doom9 downloads ..

HeadAC3he can do this easily as well. If you got the AC3 directly from DVD2AVI it will even automatically use the delay that's in the name. Otherwise you can always set it manually from inside HEadAC3he.

Audio delay is coming in some future OgMux release, we still have to figure out some nice way to do that.
I hope this helps,

it should be able to take delay out of the avi. because if u want to remux an old avi file to ogm you normally don't know the delay value you used :D . so will there be a solution that gets the delay of the avi?

My proggi is called OggMux and not OggDeMux :P
I'm working on some GUI additions and delay ATM, but first want to finish some editing capabilities like modify or delete entries made.
On my todo list is support for remuxing old avis at about place no. 999 :)
Sorry,

if you do direct AVI to OGG transcoding using philippas Graphedit method ( see Q&A ) it should take your delays into account correctly ...

Philippas transmuxing method seems hit or miss to me though, sometimes it works flawlessly, other times it doesn't want to do it at all. It seems like the dshow muxer is picky about the mp3 formatting...

Thanks for all the suggestions, I used BeSweet to account for my delay when I transcoded my AC3 and it worked great. I knew there had to be a way to do it either before or after transcoding thanks for pointing them out. :)

and what can i do if i have an avi with ac3 sound? how can i find out the delay? (with my small experience i think that the ac3 audio delay is usually abour 0.1 sec, so it's not a big issue)
but i would like to transcode some of the 2cd divx3+ac3 into 1cd divx5+vorbis and it would be good to know how to set the proper delay.
