hi, this is my first try with divx 4.12. i used to use 3.11a before.
i have an mpg source from the internet. i tried to convert it to divx 4.12(2pass) but no matter what bitrate i choose (even 6000) the result always looks crappy. for me it looks like a postprocessing problem but i have no clue how to fix it. post processing is set to maximum.
i add a picture to show what i mean. it looks almost like divx 3.11 with the divx4 display filter.

thanks for you help.

That almost looks like 16 bit colors to me. If you have your desktop set to 24 or 32 bits colors then ignore that comment.

What is the resolution of the video you encode, and what is the final resolution of the output? Some DivX4 filters are known to produce strange colors on resolutions that are not divisible by 8 or 16.

Some DivX4 filters are known to produce strange colors on resolutions that are not divisible by 8 or 16.Either that, or just sometimes the playback goes crazy without any reason. Then, restarting wmp helps.

I don't know, but both DivX4 and 5 display this kind of behaviour.
