Yes, I'e already tried an IVTC. Didn't work.

I'm ripping an HK anime DVD, and the WONDERFUL and INTELLEGENT GENIUSES who have made the DVD have not only made it NTSC, but have also deemde fit to make each frame a blend of ome or more of the original frames.

So, what should I do. Should I simply Telecide using Decomb, or should I just deinterlace. If so, what deinterlacing program would you recomend? Will an IVTC still get rid of some excess frames?

For auto IVTC Decomb is probably better these days but once you have decided to do a pure deinterlace I would try

GreedyHMA(1,0,0,0,1,0,0,0) # or maybe
GreedyHMA(0,0,0,0,1,0,0,0)

depending upon whether your source material is Top field first.
