I'm trying to convert a divX 3 avi (with audio converted to PCM) to MPEG2 but keep receiving the 'File xxxx.avi cannot open or unsupported error message'.
The AVI opens and plays succesfully with Media Player.
All suggestions welcome.

1) Make sure you have all the current DivX codecs

2) Install VFAPI plug-in for TMPGEnc.

http://tmpgenc.net/files/TMPGEnc-2.53.35.130-vfp.zip
After downloading, unzip to same folder as TMPGEnc.exe is stored, then run "TMPGEncVFP_Install.bat".

-Hope this helps

Hi,
I have the same problem..
I get the error when opening an AVI file..
The AVI is not DivX, but motion JPEG from a capturecard.
The strange thing is that i can play the AVI file with any player (WindowsMedia and others, OS=WinXP)
I also installed the pluggin, but to no avail.
I also used the old version of TMPG (1.12) and that one IS working.. so .... What did they change ???

Please help
