Well as this VCD Encoding forum was the closest subject I could find for my question, here it is:
does anyone know a software able to burn a vcd with audio tracks playable on a cd player? I saw some kinds of those AVCD for singers in Asia.

Sounds like a multisession hybrid disk ... check this posting: http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=006aZW ...

Try vcdhelp.com, there a really good site for finding all the different methods of making different vcds. I think what your trying to do is just make a vcd, but only have audio...not video. Pretty much you have to convert the songs to .wav and just have a blank video mpg....thats if your using TMPGenc. Check out vcdhelp.com as they have actual specific info.

twistee,

at first I thought so too ... and yes, that's easy to do (use WinonCDs "music album" feature).
But AVCD appears to be a hybrid VCD + audio CD ... i.e. playable both on an audio CD player and a VCD player. Like e.g. this disc: http://www.cantonkid.com/DreamAVCD.htm

From what I recall the philips VCD toolkit was the only prog that could do this, and I could never get the damn thing to work :(
