I have WIN XP and WINDVD 3.0 (newest ver.) combination and have problems with playing movies from HD. If i play from HD (i rip all the files in ROOT:\video_ts) i can't get AC3 passtrough (my reciver doesn't recognize it, only dolby sorround or something). But if i play just one file in FILE MODE (in playlist) i get DOLBY DIGITAL signal.
I used POWERDVD for playing movies from HD but all of a suddenly POWERDVD XP doesn't put out any sound at all. So, that if i run a movie with POWERDVD i must reinstall LIVE drivers to get WINDVD to work again. I' ve SB LIVE VALUE with digital coaxial cable to my reciver's digital IN.

In PowerDVD you have to check "6 Speakers" in the AudioTab in the options, and then enable "DolbyProLogic II" for "Movie Playback".

I believe then comes AC3 sound out of your vob files :) .

I played movies for more than 1 year with PowerDVD, so i know which settings to use, but if i run POWERDVD i get no sound at all and then eve WINDVD (AC3 passtrough) doesn't work anymore, so i must reinstall SB live drivers. But i want to solve the problem i have with WINDVD which i have described in the first post.

I reinstalled WINDVD and it works now. Anyway i have strange problems with AC3 passtrough with this SbLive card, though i don't know if it is all it's fault.
