Using GKnot, DVD2AVI causes an Invalid Page Fault:
"DVD2AVI caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:b011fa37."

I have been merrily encoding using GKnot under Win98 until I had an egregious hard drive crash yesterday. Only when I re-installed GKnot this morning on a fresh hard drive with the same OS did this problem occur.

The rip was done with the most recent version of DVDDecrypter. The movie is Phantom Menace. CPU is an Athalon 1.33g.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

First off, GK says only use Smartripper. You wouldn't, by any chance, have a newer version of DVD2AVI on your hard drive? You can get VFAPI conflicts. Use the newest one.

As it turns out, the most recent version of DVD2AVI conflicts with the Mcafee Virus agent in a big way. Disable virus protection, the problem goes away.
