When I play my divxmovies very anoying high pithed noises occur not on the same places every time I play my movie. I have tried all kinds of divx codecs, and audio codecs but I cant get rid of theese sounds..:/ When I play regular mp3 files this is not a problem.

I have a 600Mhz Celeron 128pci SB and WinXP, Can it be XP?
I uses to watch my movies in WinME becuase my old graphiccard tvout function didnt work in XP. And now the sound sucks,....:(

Anyone else who have simarly problems?

IMHO the WDM drivers in Win2K and WinXP are absolutely crap especially for sound quality. Back in the days when I actually used a SB with Win2K I heard the high pitched shreiks as well and then it usually lead to a reboot, not even a BSOD.

Trying 3 differnt versions of the WDM driver on my friends PC hasn't helped either. The issue she has ATM is MP3 skipping and popping within WinXP. My advice to her was pull the SB and buy another brand;)
