There has been massive work done of late. There are binaries and working code going. But it is not ready for a medium closed alpha let alone a beta test ATM. Tronic has in recent days had an influx of outside help and comments and has been working to tweak the spec to be it's best. The developers have been able to make MCF files, but they do not feal the code is ready to be played with by the general public. I would trust their judgement on that. But it is by no means dead, there is still talk going on at powerdivx.com on the subject. A bit more patience and I feal you might be pleasantly suprised.

Well, in fact for somebody who knows how to access a CVS tree on sourceforge and how to use a compiler there is plenty of stuff in the CVS that could be tested now.
But, as Neo Neko has pointed out, its in no way fit to go public beta. Before we do this step we will for absolutely certain do some first alpha test runs with the 'world famous' powerdivx beta test team .. and then go public.
Dont expect this to happen before May/June ..

Oh well,
been a browsing the source, I love the way its written, Im always more of a C++ fan than a C fan, but I can understand the need for simple ANSI C.
The way the API is being written to be like the standard C I/O routines is good...very familiar (& without the drawbacks of normal C I/O (eg filesize limit etc)).
(ps don't like the idea of a struct being initalised in a struct (i.e. in the main MCF struct), can cause messy nasty things)
Im going to do some testing, wouldn't mind writing an AVIFile API style wrapper round it, means I can test it easier......
I hope Tobias or Ingo writes the DShow decoder/splitter....it would take alot of time...& although I'd love to do it I don't have the time....Damn, I wish I was unemployed again....
Anyway, the point of this post (as I have gone completly OT) is that it looks like its coming along great....
Cheers,
-Nic
