giving lecture on divx and decryption, any ideas for me??

my DVD authoring class invited me to lecture for a half hour on DivX and DVD decryption on monday (march 25)....

the class is not all that bright when it comes to technical stuff, basically, they want me to speak on the history, and the basics of decryption, and divx (I will also talk a bit about things like ifoedit and ReMPEG2)

do any of you have any words or knowledge that you think is nessessary, and words on the history??

I also need to know how *exactly* decryptors work, and how *exactly* ReMPEG2 works (they want to know how it doesn't cascade encode)

Also, I have access to the internet in the lecture room, which guides or sites should I use (need LOTS of screen shots, not words!!)

and finally, they want me to talk about *why* ripping is becoming so prevelant, and what the future of it is...

It's a test class. The goal of the comm dept is to start up a DVD training section...

what's funny is that all the republican professors refuse to let me install any program (and yes, they told me they were republican, the same party as our idiot president for those not in the US). But the professor teaching it is totally enthralled by what we do, thus, the invite!!

Make sure you talk about the fact that the MPAA and RIAA are so concerned about this technology, and explain the fact that this technology does not constitute a threat to these organizations. It's the MISUSE of this technology that they are concerned about.

The problem is that the MPAA assumes everyone will misuse it, and therefore wants to outlaw it. Try to drum support for Fair Use laws and the opposition to these unjust laws that are trying to be introduced by the MPAA and RIAA.

Also, tell them how cool DivX is!
