Hello,
has anyone made tests with this setting enabled or disabled? CCE states non-linear quantization as a new feature of Mpeg-2, but the guide on doom9 recommends linear quantisation which was the only standard for Mpeg-1 and gives better quality in doom9's opinion.
If it does not offer better quality, then it does not make any sense to implement it in the standard at all.
I'm going to play with the setting in the next days, but it would be nice to read other's experiences as well.
