I've always compressed 2hrs-movies (or so) and as I read on the guide section, used .270 (or so) as bits/(pixel*frame) value.

Now have to compress "Gladiator"....a 2 1/2hrs-movie (as I suppose you know) and would like to cut it into 3 cds!!
Which is the righest value to get a (less or more 2085) MB movie ???

Thanks in advance
James

PS: Divx 5.0

Hi-

The movie is fairly compressible, and has been done well for 1 CD. 2 CDs will be enough to give you top quality.

Gladiator? Highly compressible? I didn't find it so...

I made 3cds, simply because I wanted the ac3 audio with a vbr mp3 director's commentary track.

Also, most of this movie is bright, with lots of action and fast movement.

I would go for 3cds....

Best way is to just set your filesize in Gknot....2000MB is pretty good.
