Hello everyone.
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this (forgive me!) but my machine (celeron800 crappy mb) is not upto playing xvid encoded stuff with the dsfilter. I have been using Avicc to change to divx dsfilter and even thogh there are colour probs i am very happy to put up with them until either the xvid dsfilter is faster or i get a better pc(i am waiting for thoughbred to be released). I prefer to be able to watch slightly sharper mpeg quant. modulated encodes in the future.
But now i have to back up my encodes to cd, and would prefer to store them as 'xvid' fourc codes, but if i want to watch these cds now i have to transfer back to hd to change the fourc back to 'divx'.
I use zoomplayer, is there another player that i can use that i can force to use a specific dsfilter, one which is different to the 'source' fourc code? So i can save to cd as 'xvid' and play back as 'divx' - i heard that the player can do this - is this correct?
Thanks.
