View Full Version : Downmixing centre channel

I just went through the Divx5 guide and successfully encoded The Matrix. It did look better than anything I've encoded in the past. However, I was a little unhappy with the audio. It seemed like the dialogue was too quiet compared to the music and special effects. I had to crank up the volume to hear what they were saying and then the music was way too loud.

Is there a setting I can change that would bring up the centre channel volume up during the downmix so that dialogue and music are at the same volume?

Also, is it possible to retain surround sound (say for a 4.1 speaker system) when encoding a divx movie?

Thanks,
Ric
