View Full Version : Virtual Dub Always crashes when Divx5 encoding

I'm trying to encode in Divx5Pro using the Divx5 guide. I installed the gordianknot 0.21 pack and the 0.23 update. This installs Vdub 1.4.7 build 13130.

On my first try everything was going fine and I was almost finished encoding the 1st pass when my computer gave me a bsod (probably related to some buggy drivers). I rebooted, fixed my driver issues and tried again, but every time I tried to load the .avs file created by gknot, it would give me an error claiming it couldn't identify the video type.

I then reinstalled the gordion knot packs and now didn't get this error any more. However, when starting the batch encoding, the program always crashes and gets shut down, so I can never successfully start encoding. I've tried re-installing it again and same problem. Same thing when I reboot.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm running Win2k SP2.

Thanks,
Ric

Try installing the latest Virtualdub. I heard this fixes the job control errors.

I installed the latest one and it worked without a hitch.

Thanks.
