PowerDVD 4 xp won't playback

When I first install powerdvd, I set my drive to the dvd drive, and hit play, and the playback window expands quickly (this all happens in less than a second) and comes back in. Sorta like it's bouncing just a little to the side, and it just sits there. I can hit play again, and it still does this.

Any ideas?

My system specs are
1.6Ghz Athlon XP
384 ddr ram
radeon ve
windows xp pro
16x hi-val dvd-rom

Have you tried changing the hardware acceleration
(right click->Video tab->Hardware Acceleration) ?

Try to enable it or disable it depending on what it currently is.
