possibilty to use 2 computers for encoding?

hi, everyone, i was wondering if there is apossiblity to use 2 or more computers (connected via LAN) to encode a video. I'm thinking about something like the rendering in maya, where multiple computers render the same scene and speed up the rendering speed?

encode the first half on the first computer and the other half in the second computer, it's as easy as that!

that's a bad idea becuase your 2 half will be of differnt quality
