SVCD pixelated and jerking...

ok, so this was my first time ever burning a SVCD.

when i first try to add the mpg to nero i get this error:

not really sure why i got it, but then again im new. i followed one of those guides, but.....

and the pixelation and jerking usually happen when someone is moving fast or when the camera is moving over a section. its not a real movie, but anime episodes. also, their is slight pixelation sometimes with some areas.

anyways, any help is greatly appreciated.

i also forgot to add i used a CDRW just to test it out and becuase i dont have any cdrs right now. not sure if using a CDRW matters...

Well, as for the error message... It is just telling you that you the MPEG is not a valid MPEG-2 video. The problem is the Frames Per second. They FPS (Frames Per Second) is 23.976. However I am assuming you hit the turn off standard compliance button and burned the cd anyhow. Is this the CD you are having problems w/? There are several things that could be ceausing the blocking. It could be your SVCD player. I had an APEX-1500 that played every SVCD w/ Macro Blocks, I ended up taking it back. It may also be that you are running other programs while actually burning the CD.

It may also be that you are burning the CD too fast. Try burning it at 2x to see if there are errors. IF it plays fine you will need to find a happy medium, like maybe 4x. Some burners have problems burning SVCDs at full speed.

Actually, the problem is twofold.

SVCD video must be 480x480 NTSC, and this stream is 720x480.

Also, audio for SVCD is 41000 Hz rather than 4800.

As an incidental, the stream itself appears to be bad, but a simple demux/remux as "SVCD" will fix that problem, so it's not REALLY a problem with the encoding.

23.976 fps is fine, as FILM content, but you'll want to reencode your video at 480x480 and the audio as 41kHz.
