Hey guys. I've been encoding my DVDs with DVD2AVI, after ripping the .vob files to the hard drive first. Now, when I go to watch the movie straight from the .vob files, and view it from the original aspect ratio, there are 1-inch black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. This is the original aspect ratio, not 4:3, which gives the whole screen full, stretching the picture.
My question is this: When I use DVD2AVI to rip this movie (Jeepers Creepers), it says "Aspect Ratio 4:3", and I wind up getting the stretched (4:3) version instead of the version with the 1-inch black bars at the top and bottom. Is there any way I could rip the movie to the original aspect ratio instead of being locked into 4:3? Thanks.
