I ripped some extra's of the movie 'A Knight's Tale'. When checking the vobs with bitrateviewer, it says topfield first, so i reencode with upper field checked in CCE, but the resulting extra's 'stutter' when played back on my tv. So, i changed the field order with changer and everything's ok.
My question, why did bitrateviewer suggested the other field order?

Best regards.

Look at the bitrate viewer if the DTC Type is FRAME and the DTC Type (Format?) is progressiv. If the answer is yes, you have to check the "Progressive Frame" flag at CCE.
Also look at the "Scanning Method" - if this method is in bitrate viewer "zigzag" so check the "ZigZag Scanning Method" in CCE.

If you had allready done this i have realy no clue!

CCE has a bug. You must unselect top field first in CCE if BitrateViewer says top field first.

I tought the CCE bug was that it always selects top field first, if you select it or not.
So if bitrateviewer says top field first, you can select or not select the top field first in CCE?

Where am i wrong?

No, CCE swaps fields, I think it shifts the whole image one pixel down.

Strange, because the vobs were top field first, with top field first selected in CCE, my mpv's were top field first too (bitrate viewer), but playing wrong on television. So, if CCE swaps the fields, why does it still say top field first, when top field first selected (if it swaps)? Or does it say top field first when it is really the other way in the mpv itself, in other words, can it be bitrateviewer is 'tricked'?
I hope i'm not making this more difficult than it is...

The problem only occurs if i'm encoding in 4:3, could it? I think i haven't met this problem in 16:9.
