this question is specifically at darkavenger i suppose...
correct me if i'm wrong, but as far as i know, the temp file that is created in float mode during ac3->ogg conversion is just a raw, decoded version of the ac3 before it's normalized and encoded to ogg, right? more or less. so would it be possible to have an option where this temp file is saved temporarily in order to create more than one ogg stream without creating the temp file twice? i ask because i wanted to do some listening tests (specifically to see if i could tell a difference between lossless and lossy coupling) which would require encoding a movie in ogg twice or more from the same ac3 source. i could just rip smaller ac3 files for certain parts of the movie, but i want to be able to test anywhere in it and i don't mind taking the time to encode in ogg twice. however it would be nice if a few minutes and a few gigs of hard drive writing could be saved by keeping the temp file around. please correct me if this is impossible for some reason i don't know of. thanks :)
